Managment Trainee Intern

May - August 2019 • Corpus Christi, TX

What I liked

I was one of two interns out of 35 in the south Texas region to be located at the Corpus Christi International Airport. I really enjoyed the resources and skills I built during my time working with Enterprise. Unlike the other interns I was working at a much faster pace and was able to adapt quickly to the business lifestyle at the airport. I was able to be apart of the growth of Corpus Christi as I was putting CEO's and Tope level management into vehicles and on the road. I was taught how to run an entire branch and learned every aspect of a successful privately owned company.

What I wish was different

I personally felt over qualified for the posititon because I study Industrial Managment and Applied Engineering with a minor in Buisness Admn and Construction Managment while the internship was for business majors. I study Human Resource Management and many other courses that helped me understand the buisness from the corprate level. I just wished I had more authority than the intern because I was truley smarted than the branch managers and assistant managers that were making the decisions.

Advice

Being located at the Corpus Christi International Airport I met a lot of very important and successful people flying in from all over the country. I was able to find out about the deals and mergers that were occuring in Crpus Christi through conversations with these buisnessman I was able to be apart of the process. I took every opprotunity I had to build and establish my skills and If I had anything to share about the internship is that it was the best job I could have asked for to start my career off by understanding how to operate and manage a successful buisness like the Enterprise at the Corpus Christi Airport.

License and Title Intern

May - August 2021 • St. Louis, MO

What I liked

I really enjoyed the culture at Enterprise. The team I worked with was very welcoming and I was able to actually be an asset to the team. Unlike some internships that I have been a part of, at Enterprise I was doing the same work as the full-time employees. Because of this, I gained real-world knowledge of how the company operates and what to expect as an employee if I were to work full-time at Enterprise. The HR team did a great job of connecting the interns together and getting us to network with other employees at Enterprise.

What I wish was different

There isn't a whole lot that I wish would've been different. I really enjoyed my time at Enterprise.

Advice

My one piece of advice would be to go all in. The more work you put into this internship, the more you will get out of it!

Java Developer Intern

May - August 2023 • St. Louis, MO

What I liked

I got to work within the environment of an established business-level product lifecycle app, which was an opportunity I had not had yet in my education. I had a great team and remote work was a nice feature. I was able to contribute to the company without having unrealistic expectations placed upon me.

What I wish was different

Due to the remote environment, I didn't get to have as much interaction with my teammates; however, through daily meetings and paired programming I did get to gain from their experience.

Advice

Java and SQL are important areas of knowledge for this role. I would try to get involved in as many activities as possible to take full advantage of the opportunity.

Management Trainee Intern

May - August 2023 • Davenport, IA

What I liked

The organizational culture and training experiences were top-notch! Everyone at Enterprise truly cares about each others' success and is always available to answer any and all questions! Enterprise has multiple divisions and plenty of opportunities for career development and planning. They also have commission-based roles in truck rental, which is nice for those looking to get out of car rental and into a relatively new division.

What I wish was different

I wish that there were more employees in my branch's office, but I loved my 3 team members as well.

Advice

Bring a spare pair of shoes to wear when washing vehicles or for weather changes, and take lots of notes during training course modules/classes. They reward hard work as well so raise your hand in training sessions, ask lots of questions, and put 110% into your branch leadership project so you earn a scholarship!

What I liked

How involved the managers and employees are. They are there to help you and give you the best tips, insights, and pathways to success.

What I wish was different

More in-person opportunities, but they allowed us to go into office as much as we wanted as well.

Advice

To apply for the job even if you think you are not qualified. Enterprise wants to see you succeed and is so big on family style/ close work environment that you feel welcomed from the start. I felt heard, seen and wanted the whole internship.

Management Trainee

June 2021 • Hampton, VA

What I liked

As a rising senior, I was looking for an internship where I would be able to gain real-world experience that I will soon be applying in my professional career as a college graduate. Enterprise exposed me to an environment that was all and more. Every day I was challenged with a new task and when completing the task my co-workers praised me and gave me feedback on what I could have done better. I also enjoyed getting paid because a lot of internships are unpaid. A lot of internships this summer were virtual, but mine was in person which I enjoyed because I was able to meet amazing people who I now consider mentors.

What I wish was different

When accepting my job, I had a very different understanding of what the internship would entail. One thing I wish that was different was how the company promoted the job. I am very thankful for the experience I had, I just was not aware of the daily responsibilities and tasks that were required of the job.

Advice

One piece of advice I would share is to always ask questions!! At first, I was nervous, but I came to realize that at one point everyone I worked with had either been in the same place as me or similar so they understand how you are feeling and will always be more than happy to help. Take the time to understand the products of the company. This will allow you to quickly excel in your position. Lastly, NETWORK. I made sure to attend any company event which helped get my name out there and people knew who I was. It shows you have hard work, dedication and are excited about the new role.
