What I liked
This company does everything to make sure you feel welcomed and supported while working there as an intern. We have the option to learn about many different disciplines (EE, ME, Optics, Materials, QA), which helped me decide what I wanted to pursue. Often, they hold different speakers during lunch so that we can learn what their day-to-day jobs are like, how they got to where they are, etc. This helps expose us to different types of jobs and what the path to a career looks like. Each week, there are meetings with your manager to talk through your tasks, your workload, and overall how your experience is going. There are also many opportunities to participate in social events to get closer to the other interns. Over the course of the entire summer, the interns were placed on teams for a program-long project. We learned the process of engineering project proposals, and had to present in front of a "customer". Overall, this company offers many opportunities for learning about what you want to do, how to do it, and generally how to be successful as an engineer/physicist/scientist for a company.
