Systems Engineering Intern

May - August 2019 • Denver, CO

What I liked

The internship program was well run and developed. It gave interns the opportunity to learn a lot about company. The internship provided a lot of opportunity to shadow and meet with company employees. I was provided with ample work and the opportunity to take responsibility for my own projects.

What I wish was different

There was not a lot of crossover between interns that worked at different sites. So it was difficult as an intern from out of state to connect with interns outside your own office.

HR Intern

May - August 2019 • Denver, CO

What I liked

I loved my coworker's passion for their jobs and the HR industry. Everyone I worked with was eager to teach me things they had learned and found valuable. I was given projects that were fun to work on, and stretched my skills.

What I wish was different

Human Resources Intern

May - August 2019 • Titusville, FL

What I liked

The culture is great. They really care about employees achieving their goals. If employees want to try a new job role, the managers do a great job of helping the employees to accomplish that. They also help their employees be successful in their job roles and give them plenty of resources to do that. I also really liked that they have a 9X80 work schedule. This means that M-TH employees work 9 hours and then work 8 hours every other Friday. This equates to 36 hours one week and 44 another week. It seems like a lot in one week, but it isn't bad and totally worth it to have a Friday off. I also liked that we got paid every Friday.

Human Resources Intern

May - August 2019 • Denver, CO

What I liked

I really enjoyed being able to do actual work that had an impact on the business. The culture was great with the company and I loved all of those that I worked with!

What I wish was different

I do wish that the recruiting side of my internship had been better. I didn't receive as much communication through that process as I would have liked.

Advice

I would say to do your best and take on things that you aren't sure you can do! There's so much room for learning and growth and an internship is a great way to expand that growth. Don't hesitate to reach out for projects that are outside of your area so that you can learn other skills!
